BRANTFORD CULTURAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

2 vacancies - term ends November 30, 2014

Committee meets second Wednesday of the month, 3 p.m., Brantford Tourism Centre, 399 Wayne Gretzky Parkway

Recommended Skill Sets:

  • interest in arts, but not affiliated with a specific arts organization in the community
  • background in arts or cultural management, or related business experience in cultural industry
  • fundraising, communication and event planning skills would be an asset

BROWNFIELDS COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE

1 vacancy - term ends November 30, 2012

Committee meets first Thursday of the month, 5 p.m., City Hall

Recommended Skill Sets:

  • environmental rehabilitation and remediation of brownfield sites
  • environmental sustainability
  • reading technical documents regarding environmental conditions, structural conditions, remediation technology and remediation strategies
  • researching and learning about remediation technology, redevelopment and financial incentives programs of brownfield sites
  • public education on brownfield issues

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE

1 vacancy - term ends November 30, 2012

Committee meets third Thursday of the month, noon, Brantford Tourism Centre, 399 Wayne Gretzky Parkway

Recommended Skill Sets:

  • organizational ability and good written and verbal communication skills
  • good business contacts within Brantford/County of Brant and beyond
  • interested in what the Advisory Committee can do to further the economic development of Brantford
  • able to represent the interests, concerns and attitudes of community businesses
  • be without conflict of interest

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and preference will be given to the appointment of persons who are the owner or tenant of land or the spouse of said owner or tenant in the City of Brantford.

City Council wishes to ensure that its Boards and Advisory Committees reflect the diverse nature of Brantford’s population and invites all residents to consider these opportunities.
