Beckett Serenaders

The Beckett Serenaders are a choir group that sings at various retirement & nursing homes in the Brantford area.
When we are not performing in the community, you will find our group practicing on Wednesday afternoons at the Beckett Adult Leisure Centre.

The Beckett Serenaders are currently looking for male voices!  You would need to be available on Wednesday afternoons from approximately 1:00 - 4:00 pm.  If you are interested, please inquire at the BALC front desk or call the Centre at
519-756-3261 ext 5569.  We will let you know how you can get involved!



The Brant Carving Club

The Brant Carving Club (previously known as the St. George Carvers) meets on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 pm at the Beckett Adult Leisure Centre.

Our members have many years of experience at all levels and areas including: Caricature, Relief, Birds, Love Spoons & Bark Carving. We welcome all “wood-be,” novice or seasoned carvers to join us in “sharpening” our activities.

Card Making Workshops

1) Beginners Card Making

Make 3 beautiful all occasion cards using a variety of tools & techniques. Everything supplied

1st Wednesday of every month
Time: 10 am – 12 noon.
Cost: $12.00 / workshop (members) or $15.00 / workshop (non members)

2) Advanced Card Making

Take your card making skills to the next level with interesting and fancy folds, designer papers, punches, more layers, ribbons, and embellishments. Everything supplied!

3rd Monday each month
10:00 am - 12:00 noon

Workshop includes all supplies and you leave with 4 occasion cards.
Cost: $17.00 (members) or $20.00 (non members)

Beginners Conversational Spanish

Learn the basics of this fascinating language with our very own Beckett Centre member, Maria Hernandez.  This is a very informal class designed to provide you with basic knowledge of the Spanish language.

Beginners Quilting: Postcards

Theme: Landscape or Christmas Card
These fabric postcards can be used as a greeting card or put in a frame.  A fun course that requires no artistic talent.  You will learn raw edge applique and some free motion.
Cost includes lunch - supplies extra. 
Supply kits will be available for purchase from the instructor at a cost of $5.00 / kit.
**You must bring your own sewing machine.

Part memoir and part short story class. Participants will write about real-life adventures and also turn those adventures into stories where anything can happen!
