Official Plan
Brantford's Official Plan is a statement of goals, objectives and policies intended to guide future land use, physical development, growth and change within the city limits. The policies of the Plan are designed to maintain a good quality of life for the citizens of Brantford, to reduce uncertainty concerning future development, and to provide a basis for land use controls. The Official Plan provides the basis for the zoning bylaw applying to your property.
The Official Plan evolves with the city, and is occasionally altered and updated. Sometimes it is necessary to amend the Plan to provide appropriate policy or land use designation for development that wasn't anticipated when the Plan was prepared. Please contact the Planning Department for inquiries and interpretation of the Official Plan.
Printed copies of the Official Plan are available from the Planning Department for $40.
The Official Plan was last consolidated in April 2013.
