Noise By-law Exemption Permit

To expedite the submission and approval process, the City of Brantford Clerk's Department is now responsible for facilitating and approving Noise Exemption Permits. A Noise By-law Exemption can be requested by filling out an application form for a noise exemption and submitting it to the Clerk's Department. Please note that a $100.00 fee must accompany the application.

Also, if you are applying for a Noise By-law Exemption, you are required to notify residential properties within 120 metres of the location/event where you are applying for an exemption. For your convenience, a Notice of Noise Exemption template is included with the application form. Please note that the exemption application must also be accompanied by a copy of the resident notice with a list of addresses where the notice was sent.

If you are having trouble identifying properties within 120 metres of your event, please click to use Google Maps to help you. You can use the measuring tool (accessed by right clicking on location) included on Google Maps.

The application along with the Notice of Noise Exemption template must be submitted to the City at least sixty (60) days prior to the event.
