The Guitar Society of Brantford
Who: Classical guitar instruction, ensembles and concerts
Where: Based in Brantford, with performances at Laurier Brantford

One of Brantford's newest non-profit arts groups, The Guitar Society of Brantford was formed in 2011 with a mandate to enrich the cultural life of Brantford and surrounding areas by presenting the worlds finest international performers, giving a platform to emerging young local and National guitarists, performance opportunities for community students, a meeting place for aficionados, free concerts for schools and hospitals, free concert tickets for deserving community members, and educational opportunities through our guitar ensemble programme. The concert series is open to the public and brings the finest in local, national and international classical guitarists to Brantford, performing at the Steve & Helen Kun Recital Hall, in Laurier Brantford's new Research and Academic Centre (150 Dalhousie Street, Brantford). So far, this year's series has included international guitarists Francisco Bernier and Johannes Moller.
Under the leadership of Artistic Director (and accomplished guitarist and instructor) Patrick Feely, The Guitar Society of Brantford offers four ensembles, each geared towards players with differing technical, musical and reading abilities. The ensembles are perfect for students taking their first lessons, as a supplement to those already in studying, and as a way for aficionados to meet new friends and perform a couple times a year.
