Canada Council for the Arts Programs

The Canada Council for the Arts is a national arm’s length agency created by the federal government in 1957 to “foster and promote the study and enjoyment of, and the production of works in, the arts.” To fulfill this mandate, the Canada Council provides a wide variety of grants and services to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations in dance, interdisciplinary arts, media arts, music, theatre, visual arts, and writing and publishing. Grants are available for individual artists, arts organizations and professional publishing houses.
