Role of the BHA
The recently formed Brantford Hotel Association (BHA) consists of 4 major hotel properties: the Best Western Brant Park Inn and Conference Centre, Days Inn Brantford, and Quality Inn & Suites, and the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Brantford.
The BHA became a registered not-for-profit organization in the fall of 2009 with input and professional advice of the following Brantford firms: Millard, Rouse & Rosebrugh, and Waterous Holden Amey & Hitchon. One Board of Directors of the BHA is comprised of representatives of each of the 4 hotel members.
The BHA has reached an agreement to implement the collection of a voluntary Destination Marketing Fee (DMF) at the above mentioned participating Brantford hotels.
This 3% fee, inclusive of all taxes, has been applied to the room-only portion of the guest bill from January 1 to June 30, 2010. Funds raised through this fee will be used to assist in the marketing of Brantford as a destination for visitors. Additional information on the types of marketing programs that will be implemented by the BHA is available by contacting the chair of the BHA, Kirby Brown, from Best Western Brant Park Inn & Conference Centre at kbrown@bestwestern.com.
Marketing Programs
The BHA is currently developing marketing programs that utilize the funds from the DMF collection. Once the marketing plan has been approved it will be posted.
