What is a DMF?

Many major North American cities collect a Destination Marketing Fee (DMF), which enables businesses in the tourism industry to collectively promote and improve a destination's attractiveness in the marketplace through targeted marketing efforts.

The DMF is a 3% surcharge applied to short-term accommodation rentals of less than 30 days in duration to develop new markets and increase consumer awareness of a destination.

The funding generated by the DMF will ensure that Brantford is able to promote the many wonderful things our city has to offer and the terrific experiences that can be enjoyed when visiting the area. Businesses in the tourism industry must work together with greater resources to promote Brantford as a quality, diverse and beautiful place to visit.
