Brantford Hotel Association
The recently formed Brantford Hotel Association (BHA), consisting of 4 major hotel properties: the Best Western Brant Park Inn and Conference Centre, Days Inn Brantford, Quality Inn & Suites, and the Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Brantford, is a not-for-profit organization that works with the Corporation of the City of Brantford - Tourism Brantford to bring more tourism dollars to Brantford.
The BHA objectives are as follows:
The BHA is pleased to announce that an agreement was reached to implement a voluntary Destination Marketing Fee (DMF) with participating Brantford hotels. The DMF is a 3% surcharge applied to short-term accommodation rentals of less than 30 days in duration, and is used to implement targeted marketing programs and increase consumer and trade awareness of a destination.
The tourism industry is an important generator of jobs and a major contributor to the economy. The tourism industry is becoming increasingly competitive and there is a need for Brantford to actively promote itself to increase the economic impact of the tourism industry which will improve the overall local economy. In Ontario, the following cities have each implemented the collection of a DMF: Toronto, Ottawa, Burlington, Hamilton, Kingston, Kenora, Sault Ste. Marie, St. Catharines, Stratford, Dryden, Cornwall, and Gananoque.
