Greg was born and raised in Brantford, living Ward 3 during his formative years. He graduated from North Park Collegiate with his Grade 13 O.S.S.H.G. Diploma in 1978, and graduated with his Aviation and Flight Technology Diploma(Honours) from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology(Toronto) in 1981.

Work has taken Greg to past employment with both the Chatham and Brantford Airports, Sharp Bus Lines, Copeland Refrigeration, and the Brant Naval Veteran's Association. He is currently employed with the Toronto Fire Services as a Captain in Operations, and was awarded recognition of 20 years’ service with the National Fire Services Medal in 2005, 25 years’ service in May of 2010 with the Provincial Fire Service Medal, and in the summer of 2010 with a 25 year service award from the City of Toronto.

Greg has been married to his wife Elizabeth for over 31 years, and is the father to two adult sons, Kevin and Tyler.

Greg's interest in local politics started as a result of a potential neighbourhood school closure. Though  the school was eventually closed, Greg's interest in politics was piqued, and he began to comment about Brantford City Council's decisions with letters to the Editorial section of the Brantford Expositor. He also served for a time as the President of the Brantford Taxpayers Coalition, which advocated for more fiscal and financial accountability by Brantford City Council.

Greg ran to sit as a Brantford City Councillor in November 2000, and was successful in winning a seat in Ward Three. Greg served three terms as a Ward Three Brantford City Councillor, serving from 2000 until 2010.

My Goals

  • Ensure constituents' issues and concerns are heard at City Council meetings.
  • Have neighbourhood meetings to deal with ward issues.
  • Work to avoid property tax increases, but if a property tax increase is inevitable, work to minimize the impact of any increase on property owners.
  • Work diligently on the city's budgets in order to provide the best value for taxpayer dollars.
  • Support transparency and accountability in all matters of public interest.
  • Explore ideas to generate non-tax based revenue for Brantford in order to help minimize property tax increases.

Here are my results….
