John is married to Pat, they have lived on Woodlawn Avenue in Ward 2 since 1976 where they raised their two children David and Jennifer. David and his wife Fiona have two beautiful daughters, Elizabeth and Jessica, they live in the Guelph area. Jen lives in Brantford with her son Dylan.

John served a five year apprenticeship as a General Machinist and received his certification from the City & Guilds of London Institute in Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice in England. During his career he has attended numerous courses in Management, Facilitation and Quality at Waterloo, Guelph and York Universities.

John emigrated to Brantford, Canada in 1970 and joined Eagle Precision Tool in 1971 where he was promoted to manager of the machine shop. He taught apprentices on a part time evening basis at Mohawk College before accepting a full time position as Chair of Technical Programs with responsibilities at the Elgin Street campus, New Credit of the Mississauga’s and Ohsweken. Ten years on John left Mohawk and established a training and consulting business. One of the clients was Wescast Industries who he later joined and over a thirteen period had responsibilities for Leadership Development, New Product Launch, Quality and Manufacturing at operations in southern Ontario and Georgia, USA.

John authored “Excelling as a Leader” a workbook designed for new leaders.

John has nearly 35 years of volunteer involvement and was honoured with the Queen’s Jubilee medal for community service in 2002.

My Goals

  1. Work with staff to find efficiencies and cost reduction
  2. Negotiate economic co-operation with the County of Brant & Six Nations
  3. Support a new club house at Golf Operations that will increase revenues and profitability
  4. Ease traffic congestion at Hardy & Ava Road intersection
  5. Grow and maintain Brantford’s economic base
  6. Grow Post Secondary education in downtown core
  7. Develop waterfront for public enjoyment
