Brantford Walk of Fame Design Project
Project Overview: In 2008, Brantford City Council approved the design and construction of a new Walk of Fame monument structure and feature park space, to pay tribute to Brantford’s distinguished citizens. With the assistance of MMM Group, a design concept for a new monument structure and park space has been completed, based on the principles established by a former Task Force comprised of representatives from the Parks, Recreation, and Water Front Advisory Committee, the Tourism Advisory Committee, and the Heritage Committee, as well as, staff from Planning, Parks and Recreation, and Tourism.
The City of Brantford has retained MMM Group to assist in the development of the following:
-
A new monument structure & park setting;
-
A new plaque format to display past and future inductees; and
-
To establish a Maintenance Program for the on-going Walk of Fame program.
Design plans for the new Walk of Fame Monument Structure, which includes a re-design of Armories Gore Park, located at the intersections of Brant Avenue, Dalhousie and Colborne Streets will be presented at a Public Open House on April 28, 2010. The purpose of the open house will be to view the design concept prepared by MMM Group, and will provide the opportunity to obtain information on the Walk of Fame Design Project.
Timeline: The proposed completion date for the Walk of Fame Design Project is Fall 2010.
