Rick Hansen Relay
Twenty-five years ago, Rick Hansen wheeled his way across 34 countries in 26 months to complete the now-famous Man in Motion World Tour.
In celebration of his incredible journey – one that launched the Rick Hansen Foundation, which works to raise awareness of the potential of people with disabilities, accelerate progress in building inclusive communities and achieve breakthroughs in spinal cord injury research – the Many in Motion Tour retraces the Canadian leg of Rick’s original route.
Many in Motion rolls into Brantford on November 30, 2011; fittingly, on the 99th day of the relay, exactly 25 years to the day of Rick’s original journey.
The Many in Motion Tour - 25th Anniversary Relay has over 7,000 participants completing this cross-Canada tour. Participants, chosen via a public contest, represent the ‘difference-makers’ in our country. They will collectively make their way across the country passing a singular Rick Hansen Medal to the next participant.
Join our end of day celebration! We’ve planned a night of celebration in honour of this momentous anniversary. Go to the Events tab for full details and check out the Community Difference Makers tab and relfect on someone who’s made a difference in your life today!
