The big ticket event is the 1910 Gala Dinner and Concert, "A Tribute to Melville House," being held the evening of Saturday, July 24. It is set to be an elegant evening of music and cuisine, all in the heart of our city with some of our area's most distinguished dignataries. The City is proud to announce that the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, has confirmed his attendance!
Your evening will begin in the Market Square Business Centre's Lower Atrium, with an exquisitely planned culinary journey; this gala dinner is sure to surprise and delight the most discerning of palates! Following dinner, head across the street to the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts, where you will enjoy the beautiful sounds of the Brantford Memorial Concert Band, featuring special guests Celtic harpist Loril Shannik and the Brantford Pipes and Drums.
This weekend-long celebration of one of our city's most famous faces includes an official reception and book launch on Friday, July 23; special tours of the Homestead and a commemoration ceremony throughout the day on Saturday, July 24; the much-talked about Gala 1910 Dinner and Concert on the evening of the 24th; and a service of worship followed by an Edwardian family picnic, complete with a performance by the Brant Theatre Workshops on the gorgeous Homestead grounds on the afternoon of Sunday, July 25th.
