Are You Ready To Rock?

Santa sure will be when he rolls into town on Saturday, November 27!  The 36th Annual JCI Brantford Parade - "A Rock 'N' Roll Chrsitmas" is set to be the best parade Brantford's had yet with floats, bands, and much, much more!

This year's theme, a Rock 'N' Roll Christmas, has parade coordinator, co-chair and event co-host Syd Bolton more excited than ever!  "We have a lot of entries this year, and that includes not only floats but also bands and even floats from the police, fire and transit departments," Bolton said.

Bolton is thrilled with the enthusiasm and creativity people are bringing to this long-standing Brantford event, and promises that the 2010 parade will literally have people dancing in the streets.   The event begins at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27, at the intersection of Second Avenue and Colborne Street and ends at downtown Harmony Square.

But the fun does not end there!  An addition to the 2010 parade is the after party, and Santa himself is staying to rock the night away!    Parade organizers, with the help of the City of Brantford's Parks and Recreation Department, the Downtown Brantford BIA and Brant News, thought there was no better way to end a Rock 'N' Roll Christmas parade than with a rockin' party in the Square.

Stick around and kick off the holly jolly ho, ho, ho-liday season, take a turn on the ice rink (weather permitting), and "ooh" and "ahh" as the Harmony Square Christmas tree is lit.   Santa will be the guest of honour, so bring your wish list to share with him after he's done having fun on his special parade float.
