BREAKING NEWS! Olympic Torch Comes to Brantford Today!

Get out your lawn chairs, bundle up, and grab a spot along the Olympic Torch Relay route!
The Olympic Torch Relay will begin in Brantford on December 21st around 6:19 p.m. on Colborne St. East, starting at Linden Ave., just west of Garden Ave. It will then follow Colborne St. heading west all the way across town, continuing on Dalhousie St. past McDonald’s and into the downtown core. It is expected to reach McDonald’s at 6:39 p.m. It will make a right onto Queen St. followed by another right onto Darling St. Finally, it will head left onto Charlotte St. and end at City Hall, 100 Wellington Square, at 7:00 p.m. Hope to see you there!
Please note that there will be road closures in effect from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on the following streets that surround City Hall on December 21st:
- Wellington Street (from George Street to Clarence Street)
- Charlotte Street (from Darling Street to Chatham Street)
- Nelson Street (from George Street to Clarence Street)
Dalhousie Street (from George to Queen) will be closed from 2:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. to set up for events at Harmony Square following the ceremonies at City Hall. Market Street (from Darling Street to Queen Street) will have local access only, and George Street (from Nelson Street to Wellington Street) will be closed from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. for shuttle service to the event.
On December 22nd, the Olympic Torch Relay will depart Brantford at 7:09 a.m. from Harmony Square. It will follow Dalhousie St. west to Brant Ave, making a right onto Brant Ave. It is expected to pass by the Canadian Cancer Society (green marker) at 7:38 a.m. and then continue on Paris Road, reaching Hwy. #403 and ending at 7:48 a.m.
