City of Brantford Rated A Top Investment Choice 

For the third year running, the Real Estate Investment Network (REIN) has recognized our city as one of Ontario's Top Investment Towns. REIN placed Brantford at number seven on its top ten list for 2009, further solidifying our growing city as an economic force to be reckoned with province-wide.

The report highlights Brantford's climb in the housing demand curve, alongside the expectation that our city is slated to become a surprise performer in the upcoming years. What's driving this positive shift? Among many economic factors, the multiple post-secondary education institutions located within the city provide a thriving young population, which in turn is creating an excellent opportunity for investors. This young, educated population base is predicted to facilitate a strong increase in average household incomes, in-migration and diversification of the local economy.

"While extremely pleased, I am not surprised that the Real Estate Investment Network has once again placed Brantford in the top ten places to locate in Ontario. Being rated #7 ahead of Toronto, Vaughan and Whitchurch-Stoufville reaffirms what we who live here already know: that Brantford is a truly great place to invest, work, live and raise a family," said Mayor Mike Hancock.

REIN outlines that although Brantford has been an average performer to-date, the coming years will be defining ones for our region. "Decreasing house prices and an increase in average rents, combined with current low vacancy rates line Brantford up as a great location for investing in real estate. Current market conditions make it a time to consider a long term portfolio in the city that is poised to take advantage of the inevitable economic recovery in the province," REIN Top Investment Town reports.
