Looking for some outdoor fun? Harmony Square is going to be alive with activities all day long. Bring your skates and enjoy free skating at downtown’s newest hot spot (9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.). While you’re there, plan to stay for the Harmony Square Winter Carnival (2:00 – 4:00 p.m.). Join in and have fun! The live music, crafts, games, and rink-side activities are sure to be a perfect way to enjoy time with your family, right in your own hometown.
The City’s community centres also have a variety of activities lined up for you to partake in. Families with children under seven years of age should head over to T.B. Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre – Jane Flinders from Musical Motion is joining our City’s Parks and Recreation staff for an afternoon of song, games, music, and crafts (1:00 – 3:00 p.m.).
Hey Mom! Hey Dad! Dust off your sneakers, grab the kids and come down to Branlyn Community Centre. Participate in an array of gymnasium-based activities from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. – show those kids you’ve still got it while getting in a bit of physical activity!
Woodman Park Community Centre has great game ideas and is ready to help you make the most of your Family Day. Come out any time between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., learn some new games, and maybe even meet some new friends throughout the afternoon.
With the cost to participate for each family at all three community centres being $2, there is no better time to rediscover your own neighbourhood than February 16! All community centres are also accepting non-perishable food items to the Brant Food Bank – please consider helping those in need during this long, cold winter.
Register today for community centre programs! For more information, or to sign up for any of the activities listed here, please call 519-756-1500.
Please note that on Family Day, community centres are open only for the above-mentioned programs. Punch cards will not be accepted; babysitting will not be provided.
