In 2008, the City of Brantford’s City Council adopted a ‘Master Plan for Downtown Brantford’. The vision of this master plan is to transform the downtown into a bustling and beautiful destination to be enjoyed year-round – the vibrant and healthy heart of the city.
Among the plan’s many recommendations, two of the top priorities were the development of a citywide economic development strategy and a business retention and recruitment strategy specifically for downtown. These two projects are now underway. The City of Brantford Economic Development and Tourism Department, in collaboration with the Downtown Brantford Business Improvement Area, is conducting a number of surveys that will provide important background information in the development of the retention and recruitment strategy.
The Downtown Market Analysis Survey of Community Residents is one such survey that is critical to downtown Brantford’s future success. This is your opportunity to help shape Brantford’s downtown; tell us your opinion on shopping, downtown parking alternatives and even recreation options in Harmony Square. Your answers will help shape a downtown that aims to be the envy of southwestern Ontario – and to keep you coming back week after week.
