Donating food has never been this easy! On the day after your regular garbage collection day, simply fill up and put out garbage bags with non-perishable food, mark them with an 'X' and we'll do the rest. The kick-off event, happening on Saturday, September 26 across from the Farmers' Market between 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., is going to be a-rockin' with entertainment, delicious BBQ and much more - see you there!

Grab the kids and come on down to the Veteran's Memorial Parkway to take part in this fun event - with public works vehicles such as a dump truck, road grader and street sweeper on display, there will be plenty for little ones to see and do!
This event is the launch of the 2nd Annual Municipal Food Drive Curbside Collection - Thanks 4 Giving!, which is set to run from September 29 to October 3, 2009. City staff will pick up marked bags between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the day following your regular garbage collection. Items especially needed include non-perishable food items such as canned soup, meat, pasta, pasta sauce, vegetables and peanut butter.
Your place doesn't get curbside collection? Don't sweat it - simply call 519-751-4357 to arrange for your pick-up - it's no trouble!
Residents can also drop off food at the Public Works Building, located at 10 Earl Avenue, or at City Hall, 100 Wellington Square from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from September 28 to October 2.
