Additional Transit “Special” for the Northwest Industrial Area

Starting on Tuesday, September 7, Brantford Transit will be operating an additional “evening special service” bus on its #11 West Brant-Holmedale-NWIA route. A bus will leave the transit terminal at 10:30 p.m. every evening from Monday to Saturday, and arrive at Savannah Oaks Drive and Oak Park Road for 10:45 p.m. This will be a direct bus that will make no stops along the regular route in order to arrive at the northwest area prior to 11:00 p.m.
“We have been working with the businesses in the northwest area of the city to provide timely transit service for the many Brantford residents employed there,” said Elisabeth van der Made, Transit Operations Manager. “In 2009, we introduced a morning and mid-day special service bus to our #8 Holmedale-Mayfair route for the northwest. The implementation of this new evening special service bus is in response to a call to provide service to coincide with the night shifts that begin in the northwest industrial area at 11:00 p.m., as our regular route bus does not arrive until 11:05 p.m..”
