The summer festival season is here once again and Tourism Brantford’s Special Events Van will be hitting the open road, making appearances at some of the most popular events in South Western Ontario. The van - a veritable billboard on wheels - features colourful graphics depicting local attractions and amenities from Brantford and area.
It is sponsored by the businesses and organizations featured in the graphics, and acts as a calling card to entice visitors to Brantford and the surrounding areas. The sponsors include: Advantage Vinyl, Brantford Cultural Network, Brantford Twin Valley Zoo, Comfort Inn Brantford, Days Inn Brantford, Eskimoo Joe’s, Grand River Dinner Cruises, Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton - Brantford, Kings Buffet Brantford, Lee Munro Chevrolet, Lynden Park Mall, Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts, Six Nations Tourism, and Tim Hortons.
Kristy Johnston will be coordinating the Special Events Van appearances for the summer of 2010. Kristy is a Brantford resident and a recent graduate of Fanshawe College’s Business Marketing program. Her placement with Tourism Brantford is made possible through the Human Resources Development Canada summer student job placement program. Kristy will attend events across South Western Ontario from mid-June until Labour Day, handing out Discovery Guides, brochures for the van’s sponsors, literature on Brantford, the County of Brant, and Six Nations/New Credit.
This summer the Special Events Van will visit the following events and festivals: Cambridge Highland Games, Grand River POW-WOW, Branford’s Telephone City Car Show, Brantford’s Canada Day Celebration, Cambridge Millrace Fest, Turkey Point Summerfest, Port Dover Summerfest, plus many more. The van is a fundamental promotional vehicle for Brantford, the County of Brant, and Six Nations/New Credit.
It is also available for other events upon request, and Tourism Brantford asks that if you are hosting an event, please call us! We would love the opportunity to attend and promote the area.
The Brantford Special Events Van has been nominated and acknowledged by the Economic Development Association of Canada Awards and the Ontario Tourism Marketing Awards in the category of Outstanding Promotion & Marketing Campaign.
Tourism Brantford will continue the ever-popular “VIP” Visitor Savings Card discount program, geared towards all out of town visitors. This card, stacked with valuable savings, is valid at close to 100 locations who are offering discounts throughout the area. Kristy Johnston will be handing the card to “out of town” guests during the summer months at several different events. The card is valid until December 31, 2010.
