“My first reaction was ‘Wow!’”  - Jeff Moore, CPGA, Business Manager – Golf Operations, City of Brantford.

After starting with the City of Brantford in April of this year, Jeff Moore was focused on launching the Junior Golf Academy at both municipal courses. The program offered youth the chance to get out on the links at a junior membership rate, along with lessons and the chance to play rounds on Sunday afternoons with club pros.

The result? An innovative, summer-long program that has garnered Moore the honour of being named this year’s Ontario PGA Junior Leader of the Year. He credits the program’s success to the hard work of many individuals and admits he’s quite pleased with the success of the golf academy’s first year.

“We’ve now got our base; our foundation for an even better program in 2012. With council agreeing to reduce the junior membership for the 2012 season at both courses, the opportunity for participation is even greater,” Moore said.
