GIZEH Brings Packaging Facility and 20 New Jobs to Brantford

The City of Brantford has been selected as the first North American location for GIZEH Verpackungen GmbH & Co. KG, a leading manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging for the food industry in Europe. The company will invest approximately $4 million dollars and create 20 new advanced manufacturing jobs in Brantford. GIZEH has leased a 36,248 square foot location for operations at 170 Savannah Oaks Drive.

“We are very pleased to be locating our first North American facility in Brantford,” said Ralf Jung, Managing Director with GIZEH. “We received great service from the City’s Economic Development and Tourism Department and the Mayor’s Office. The responsiveness and cooperation between the Brantford and the provincial and federal governments was impressive.”

GIZEH plans to expand within the next three years creating an additional 50 to 70 jobs and estimates they will invest an additional $15 million in the Brantford location.

“We are thrilled to welcome GIZEH to Brantford and are confident that they can prosper here. Our background work to attract food-sector businesses is paying off,” said Mayor Chris Friel.

Based in Bergneustadt, Germany, GIZEH  (opens in a new browser window) owns five production sites in Europe: two in Germany and sites in Poland, France and Switzerland.
