Darryl Lee Appointed City's Chief Administrative Officer

Following a unanimous vote by Council at the Tuesday February 28th City Council meeting, Darryl Lee has been appointed as the City’s Chief Administrative Officer.
Well known for his leadership roles at the City of Brantford since 2003, Darryl was appointed to Acting Chief Administrative Officer in October 2016, having previously held roles as the City’s General Manager of Corporate Services since 2011 and prior to that, as the City’s Clerk and Director of Clerk’s Services. Darryl has also worked for the City of Hamilton where he held various managerial roles for 11 years prior to joining the City of Brantford.
Darryl is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and holds a Masters Certificate in Municipal Leadership from York University’s Shulich School of Business.
Reporting to Council as the senior executive manager of the City, Darryl will oversee the City's 5 Commissions and various departments. Mayor Friel fully supports Council’s decision commenting that, “I along with members of Council look forward to working with Darryl closely to fulfill the City’s mandate”. “We are very confident that his in-depth understanding of municipal operations combined with his proven competence in strategic planning, finance, and community partnerships will be strong assets to the City.”
Acting Mayor, Councillor John Sless congratulated Darryl on the unanimous approval of his appointment saying that he has the full confidence of Council to meet the challenges and opportunities of the position and successfully move the City’s agenda forward.
