BRANTFORD – Mayor Chris Friel will join the Greenwich Mohawk Remediation project team as well as representatives from CH2M Hill Environmental Consulting, Milestone Environmental Contracting, and the Brant County Health Unit to provide a project update and address recent concerns from neighborhood residents regarding odours and dust eminating from the Greenwich Mohawk remediation site.

In response to recent enquiries, City representatives including Councillor David Neumann joined an informal neighborhood meeting held at Mohawk Park on Saturday August 15th where a small group of residents voiced their concerns. To provide more people with an opportunity to ask questions, the City is hosting a public information meeting open to the community and media.

The meeting will be held Tuesday August 25, 2015 at 7 p.m. at the Brantford & District Civic Centre Auditorium (69-79 Market Street South).

During the meeting, representatives will provide a project update and recent air quality monitoring readings as well as new information about implementing additional strategies to reduce dust and odour associated with the remediation process. Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer period where the following representatives will be available to respond to questions:

  • CH2M Hill Environmental Consultants, including an air quality specialist
  • Milestone Environmental Contracting Inc
  • Brant County Medical Officer of Health

Residents who are unable to attend the meeting but wish to submit a question are encouraged to do so in advance by contacting the Project Manager, Tara Tran, by phone (519.759.4150 ext. 5684) or email (ttran@brantford.ca) OR by completing an online feedback form that can be accessed on the project website www.brantford.ca/GreenwichMohawk.

The Greenwich Mohawk project team looks forward to the opportunity to share exciting updates on the progress of the clean up process and addressing any of the public’s questions or concerns regarding the project.
