OLG Casino Brantford supports Brantford 150 Celebrations with $25,000 contribution

Brantford, ON – OLG Casino Brantford has shown their commitment to the community through their generous contribution of $25,000 to help fund the City of Brantford's Ontario and Canada 150 celebrations. Representatives of OLG Casino Brantford made the cheque presentation to Brantfords Canada 150 Organizing Committee Chair, Bob Coyne on Friday June 2, 2017.

"I know I speak for the entire Committee when I say how grateful we are to OLG Casino Brantford for their ongoing support of this event. We are dedicated to making this year's milestone event truly special for everyone attending and thank OLG Casino for helping us achieve that goal for our community', said Coyne.

City of Brantford Mayor echoed those sentiments praising OLG for their investment in the community, saying, "This contribution is tangible evidence of the shared commitment of OLG Casino Brantford and the City to marking our province and nation's 150th anniversary with the City's most memorable celebration yet."

"OLG is thrilled once again to be an integral part of Brantford's Canada Day celebrations, especially this year as we mark our province and nation's landmark 150th anniversary", said OLG Casino Brantford General Manager, Eddy Day. "It's important to us to give back to our community because we recognize that cultural and recreational activities bring people together and have a positive impact on local communities. We are excited to contribute to what will surely be a memorable year of exciting Ontario and Canada 150 events in Brantford."

In 2017, the City of Brantford is marking Canada 150 and Ontario 150 with a yearlong program of free special community events. The City of Brantford will host a free two-day celebration for Ontario 150 and Canada 150 on Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1, 2017. The weekend begins with a free country concert featuring Ontario, Canada country sensation Jason McCoy on Friday, June 30. The entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. with fun for the whole family including Campbell's Amusement Midway, Marketplace and more.

The celebration continues on Saturday, July 1 with a full day of activities to please all ages from the Great Canadian Trail Run to helicopter rides and two stages featuring non-stop entertainment. Canadian rockers, The Tea Party, will headline this year's Canada Day 150 celebrations followed by a dazzling fireworks display at 10:30 p.m. Other acts include Junkhouse with Tom Wilson, The Spoons, Teenage Head, The Northern Pikes and more.
