The City of Brantford has retained the services of AMEC Earth & Environmental to assist in the development of a new Site Alteration By-law and Tree By-law. The Site Alteration By-law and Tree By law will address several key issues, including; level of control, permitting processes, by-law enforcement aspects, staffing requirements, and financial impacts.
As part of this study, a public consultation program has been developed that includes two public information centres (PIC’s). The purpose of the first PIC is to inform the public of the background and need for the development of the Site Alteration By-law and Tree By-law for the City of Brantford. The second PIC is where the second Draft By-law will be presented.
The first PIC was held on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Mohawk Park Pavilion, 51 Lynnwood Drive, in Brantford.
It was an open house format and provided an overview of existing conditions and present regulatory scope available to the City, and sought input on concerns, requirements, and specific issues.
