All buildings to129 Colborne Street have now been demolished; the contractor anticipates an abatement crew will be on site later this week to complete abatement of 147 in preparation for demolition. Aim Environmental expects all remaining buildings will be demolished within the next two weeks.
Crews on site continue to sort materials for disposal and recycling. As trucks deliver clean fill materials to the site for compaction, brick material is being backhauled from foundations and placed into trucks and removed from the site.
Backfilling and compaction has been completed at the north face of the site to 65 Colborne Street and work is continuing to move in an easterly direction. This is providing a road base along the front face before work on grading the slope begins. To date, testing is meeting or exceeding the required 98% compaction requirements.
