The building at 143-145 Colborne Street, portions of the abutting buildings, and 56 Water Street are the only buildings left to be demolished. Required excavation of building materials, foundations, footings and floor slabs from the basement of demolished buildings has been completed for the most westerly block and up to 81 Colborne Street in the middle block. To date, some 10,000 tonnes of imported fill has been delivered to the site and compacted in place. The contractor expects the remaining buildings to be demolished within the next week and slope stabilization, topsoil and seeding to be complete by early October.
