2011 is a big year for the City of Brantford United Way campaign that has been made even bigger now that Paul Williamson of The Williamson Group challenged employees of the City of Brantford and affiliated unions to raise $50,000 for Brant United Way.
The City’s response? Game on! CAO Ted Salisbury and Mayor Chris Friel stepped up to the plate and readily accepted the challenge. “I encourage all employees of the City of Brantford to support this initial fund-raising kick-off and consider how else they can help in meeting the needs of the agencies who provide support and assistance to many in our community,” Salisbury said.
All proceeds from this event go the Brant United Way – all are encouraged to come out and support this worthy cause. 2011 workplace campaigns run from September 9 until November 25, 2011. There will be more events happening throughout Brantford – stay tuned for updates in the upcoming weeks!
The Brant United Way is a volunteer-led organization working towards improving quality of life for people in our community. All donations are invested locally in one or many of the United Way’s 18 Member Agencies, who depend on support to sustain the programs and services running in our area.
