Event Street Road Closures - April 

Date:  Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 10 am to 12:00 noon
Event: MS Walk

Street Sections To Be Closed:   Walk starts and ends at the W. Ross Macdonald School -All walkers start at the W. Ross Macdonald School, go down the driveway that exits at St. Paul Avenue, cross St. Paul Avenue to Palmerston Avenue, go down Brant Avenue to Lorne Crescent, around Lorne Crescent to Dufferin Avenue and down the southwest side of Dufferin Avenue to the park at Parkside Drive and Dufferin Avenue, where there is a checkpoint.

Activities:   5 km and 10 km routes - approximately 400 participants.

Event: 30th Annual Rotary Brantford Classic Run Event

Street Sections To Be Closed:     Walk starts and ends at the W. Ross Macdonald School; St. Paul Avenue (Brant Avenue/Dufferin Avenue); Palmerston Avenue (Brant Avenue/St. Paul Avenue); Ada Avenue (Brant Avenue/St. Paul Avenue); Brant Avenue (St. Paul Avenue/Richmond Street); Ballantyne Drive (Colborne St. W. to Spalding Drive); N/S leg of Catharine Avenue (E/W leg of Catharine Ave. to Ballantyne Drive; Brant Avenue EB curb lane (St. Paul Avenue to Grand River Avenue); Colborne Street West – SWB curb lane (Brant Avenue to Ballantyne Drive)

Activities:   Community run with a 5km/10km and 3 mile walk and it is anticipated that there will be approximately 2,000 participants. 

Date:  Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 10 am to 2:00 p.m.
Event: Hike for Hospice

Street Sections To Be Closed:    All walkers start at the Stedman Community Hospice from the Chatham Street driveway and finish at the Grey Street driveway; Chatham Street from Burke Avenue to Patterson Avenue; Patterson Avenue from Chatham Street to Grey Street; Grey Street – eastbound curb lane closed between Hospice driveway and Patterson Avenue, as required.

Activities: Hike for Hospice event is a walk to help raise funds and awareness for the Stedman Community Hospice.  This fundraising event is an annual event held the first Sunday in May by Hospice across Canada.  Families, friends and loved ones walk to commemorate the lives of individuals touched by the Hospice.  Approximately 1,000 participants are anticipated.

Date:  Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 2 pm to 4:00 p.m.
Event: Sikh Association of Brantford Walk with Parade

Location:     Walk/Parade starts at the Sikh Association of Brantford located at 483 Park Road North.      Police will be detouring and controlling traffic.  Delays to traffic to be expected.

Route:   Heading north on Park Road North, turning right (easterly) on Dunsdon Street, turning right (southerly) on Wayne Gretzky Parkway, turning right (westerly) on Lynden Road, turning right (northerly) on West St. to Park Road North, ending at the start location. 

Activities:  Sikh community walk and parade and approximately 800 participants are anticipated.
