Tree Planting

Two workers planting a treeWe plant 500 trees a year along streets and in parks.  We use a wide array of types and sizes of trees to accommodate as many locations as possible.  It is our goal that every residence in Brantford has at least 1 municipal tree.  We hope that you plant trees on your property too!

Brantford was thrilled to be a part of the Tree Canada Planting Project (TD Tree Days / Brantford, ON).  To date, the community has planted over 14,000 trees and shrubs at our New Forest in the City location near Garden Avenue and Highway 403 with thanks to local schools, Parks & Recreation, Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA), Tree Canada and TD Friends of the Environment.  For more information on the project, visit: www.treecanada.ca

When dead or hazardous trees are removed, a new tree is planted to replace it.  As new subdivisions and infill development takes place, trees are selected to suit each specific location.

If you'd like a tree planted at your house, call Parks and Recreation at 519-756-1500.

Please check out the list of the trees we plant.
