Quality Management System (QMS)

Operational Plan

The City of Brantford has developed an Operational Plan specific to their drinking water system to obtain formal accreditation as an Operating Authority. In order to satisfy the Operational Plan requirements the City is required to develop a Quality Management System (QMS), which conforms to the 21 elements of Drinking Water Quality Management Standard, (DWQMS) developed by Canadian Standards Association (CSA). These elements are related to drinking water quality management and operational risk management.

The foundation of the City of Brantford Water System QMS is the QMS Policy. The Policy states:

The Corporation of the City of Brantford owns, operates and maintains the City of Brantford Water System. The City of Brantford Water System is committed to:

  • Providing the customers of the City of Brantford Water System with a safe and adequate supply of drinking water
  • Meeting or surpassing applicable regulations and legislation in the Province of Ontario
  • Maintain and continually improve upon the Quality Management System

The City Of Brantford Water System will accomplish these goals through the dedication, support and participation of the owner and employees and will maintain and continuously improve the Drinking Water Quality Management System.
