Water Conservation
In Canada, most people depend on a municipal water supply for their needs. Growing population and economic development is increasing demand on these water supply systems. The demand can be met by increasing capacity by building new treatment plants or upgrading current plants. This requires considerable capital expenditure. By managing the demand, high capital expenditures can either be lowered or deferred resulting in considerable cost savings. In addition to the savings in capital costs, reduced water usage directly results in lower bills to the users. When the water usage is reduced, there is also less wastewater produced.
