Hunger Reality Report
What does hunger look like in our Community? In third world countries it is represented as young children who not only look vulnerable, they have swollen bellies and thin bodies. Do people in our community who don't get enough to eat look like this? Are they easily recognizable? Do most citizens in our City and County brush up against those individuals who don't get enough to eat on a regular basis? The answer to all of these questions is no.
Hunger tends to be a hidden issue unless you work or volunteer in the social programs who attempt to address hunger and food insecurity. A section of our population experiences hunger on a daily basis and it involves children, youth, adults and seniors.
This publication is a snapshot of "Hunger Reality" in the City of Brantford and Brant County.
