Neighbourhood Hubs

A neighbourhood hub is a neutral space where residents can come together to engage in enjoyable, enriching experiences. Hubs are located in logical community locations which are in walking distance for many residents.

In June 2016, the Neighbourhood Hub space within Major Ballachey School officially opened.  This space is a partnership between The Grand Erie District School Board and the City of Brantford.

Hub activities foster natural networks of social connectedness and support, develop local leadership capacity, connect people to services, and create healthier lifestyles.

Successful Hubs are driven by the input of local residents. Neighbourhood Associations provide input to Hub activities and often use Hub spaces to offer their own.  For this reason the exact mix of activities in each hub will differ. With engaged residents, neighbourhoods of opportunity grow.
