Rent Supplement Program
The Rent Supplement Program is a type of subsidized housing provided in private rental accommodations. Tenants are selected chronologically from the BRANT(FORD) ACCESS TO HOUSING (BATH) waiting list. Agreements are made with private sector and not for profit landlords to rent units in existing or newly constructed buildings. The City of Brantford supplements the tenant's rent by paying the difference between the rent-geared-to-income paid by the tenant and the full market rent of the unit. The tenant signs a lease with the landlord and all aspects of the Residential Tenancies Act apply to the tenancy.
