BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford and the Brantford Immigration Partnership are pleased to announce Destination Brantford, an educational and promotional video series that highlights Brantford as a destination for newcomers to visit and live.

Destination Brantford is a four-part video series to be featured on New Canadians, a national television and digital network, that highlights communities for newcomers, their families and prospective immigrants. The series explores services, employment, economic development, local businesses and other aspects of community life in Brantford. The series features interviews with local officials, employers and immigrant-serving agencies, along with unique newcomer stories that highlight their settlement experiences and why they are proud to call Brantford home.

“These videos highlight the diverse opportunities, wonderful quality of life and abundance of resources available in the City of Brantford,” says Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis. “Immigration not only strengthens Brantford but helps build a more inclusive and vibrant community that enhances economic, social and cultural growth.”

The Destination Brantford video series features the following community partners:

  • Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board
  • Brant Skills Centre
  • Brantford Police Service
  • Brantford Public Library
  • Chamber of Commerce Brantford-Brant
  • City of Brantford
  • Grand Erie District School Board
  • Grand Erie Public Health
  • Grand River Community Health Centre
  • Wesley Urban Ministries
  • Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services
  • Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie
  • YMCA Hamilton Burlington Brantford Immigrant Settlement Services

"As a migrant, finding an open community and accessible resources in Brantford was key to rebuilding myself as a mother, professional, and woman,” says Daniela Cuesta, Community Connections Coordinator at YMCA Hamilton Burlington Brantford Immigrant Settlement Services. “We [my family] discovered that nothing blossoms in isolation. We were supported by a network of services, programs, and people who made it possible to plant new roots without forgetting our own. Brantford is a place where newcomers can develop, contribute, and create new opportunities.”

The Destination Brantford videos are now available online at Brantford.ca/DestinationBrantford and will be shared to the City of Brantford’s YouTube channel. In Ontario, the series is set to premier on OMNI Television (OMNI 2; OMNI East) on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 12:30 p.m.
