City of Brantford celebrates new waterslide at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre
BRANTFORD, ON – Today, the City of Brantford welcomed community members to celebrate the official reopening of the waterslide at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre. Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis, MP Larry Brock, MPP Will Bouma, Brantford Councillors, Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre lifeguards, and day campers, cut the ribbon to officially open the new waterslide to the public. The new waterslide is a family-friendly 50-foot enclosed fibreglass curved slide that extends outside of the building and back down into a splash down pool inside.
Over 150 people attended the event which included a Public Swim with upbeat music, pool toys and colouring activities. Located at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre at 254 North Park St., the waterslide is now open for all Public Swims offered from Monday to Friday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. until August 31, 2025. Starting Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Public Swims will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Regular swim admission rates apply. Terrific Public Swims are offered from September 2, 2025 to March 22, 2026 from 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. for $3 per person. As per Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) regulations, waterslide riders must successfully complete a swim test and be 48 inches/120 centimetres tall to ride.
