Healthy Aging Without Walls

Healthy Aging Without Walls is a free interactive telephone-based program that connects older adults with others from the comfort of their own home. Call in to participate in trivia, health and wellness seminars, or discussion groups. This is a great opportunity to learn something new and make meaningful friendships.

September 2020 Programs

Tues. Sept 1st 

  • 10:00 am - Spotlight Series / Listen & Learn: “Reduce the Risks of Falls Part 2”
  • Join a representative from Philips Lifeline to learn the common causes that may increase the risk of falls in seniors, consequences of a fall, how to identify if you’re at risk of a fall, and how to make improvements in those areas to decrease the risk.

  • 10:00 am Card Bingo: Get your deck of cards and try to get a BINGO!!

Thurs. Sept 3rd

  • 10:00 am – Brain Health Series Part 1: “Memory & Aging” – Alzheimer Society
  • 1:00 pm with ARTC – What is Horticulture Therapy? How can it benefit us?

Fri. Sept 4th

  • 10:00 am – No HAWW Program Today – Activity Suggestion: Make your favourite recipe.

  • 10:00 am - Spotlight Series / Listen & Learn: “Old Age Security Program”
  • Join a representative from Service Canada who will give us an overview of the Old Age Security program, including supplements (ie. Guaranteed Income Supplement and Allowances)
