Tree Planting Grant Program

The Commercial and Industrial Tree Planting Grant program has been developed as part of the City’s Climate Action strategy aimed to increased tree canopy coverage in the City of Brantford. Trees not only offset greenhouse gas emissions, but offer a multitude of benefits such as shade, species habitat, stormwater storage, biodiversity and air quality improvement, among many others. The City would like to work with private commercial and businesses to plant more trees across the community to improve the quality of life for residents and their employees, while helping in the fight against climate change.

The City is offering to help cover the costs of tree planting on any industrial or commercial property within the City of Brantford limits that has sufficient planting space The City will reimburse up to $500 to cover 50% of the costs of planting trees. Eligible expenses include the cost of trees, contract planting of trees, or equipment rentals to plant trees. The program requires that the proposed trees are species native to this area.
