Please register in advance for the following programs. Space is limited. Upon arrival to your program please check in at the front desk. Non-members will be asked to pay a $3.00 fee per visit. Members only are able to register online for the programs below.

Materials cost extra. We can give you a supply list or email it to you. You'll have to bring your supplies with you for the first class. Beginner to experienced painters are welcome.

Acrylics 

Learn how easy it is to work with acrylics! You will start by making a colour wheel, and then learn the best way to create your painting using your own pictures. No experience is necessary. This is not a group lesson but involves lots of one-on-one instruction. Instructor is Pat Megraw.

Drawing 

Start at your own level. If you are beginner, you will learn to draw simple shapes, make them look three dimensional and progress to drawings. No experience necessary. This is not a group lesson but involves lots of one-on-one instruction. Instructor is Pat Megraw.

Mixed water media class

You get to choose if you work with watercolours or acrylics in this mixed water media class. No experience needed. This is not a group lesson but involves lots of one-on-one instruction. Instructor Pat Megraw.

Oil painting 

We'll give you demos and help you with a variety of different projects including how to use warm and cool colours, create landscapes and more! We welcome new ideas. Instructor is Cathy Grieve.

Colour wheel class

Are you confused as to what paint colours to buy? Are you afraid of the expense? Learn to use a minimum number of colours to make any colour you need! You will also learn some basic techniques to use waht you have learned to get started. This class is open to anyone wanting to start acrylics or watercolours. There is a small fee for extra supplies. Pottery painting

Get creative and make your own hand-painted pottery piece. Keep it for yourself or give it away as a gift. You'll paint your own spring flower pot. Materials provided by Crockadoodle.

Workshops and special interest programs

We offer a variety of different workshops and special interest programs year-round. Pre-registration is required.

Income tax clinics
If you need help with your 2019 income tax return as us if you qualify for free help. This program is valid for our members only. Call us after March 1, 2020 to book an appointment with one of our trained volunteers.
The Brant Carving Club 

The Brant Carving Club members have many years of experience at all levels and areas including Caricature, Relief, Birds, Love Spoons and Bark Carving. They welcome all "wood-be" novice or seasoned carvers to join them in "sharpening" your activities.

Hearing care
At the Canadian Hearing Services there is a special program called Sound Rewards. If you are a member with us you can get lower prices on hearing aids, repairs, devices and batteries.

One-on-One tech help

Learn more about your device with an hour of tech help from one of our knowledgeable volunteers. Help is available iwth Windows 7, 8, 10, iPads and Android tablets. The cost for one appointment is $5.00 if you are a member.

Card making workshops

You'll make four all-occasion cards using different tools and techniques. Supplies are included and fine motor skills are needed. Instructor Sharon Rafferty.

Alzheimer/Dementia awareness presentation 
Do you have questions about Dementia? Join the Alzheimer Society of Brant for an informal hour of education. Staff from the Alzheimer Society will be available monthly to discuss your concerns and help you on your journey.
