Arts and Culture

The City of Brantford is rich with arts, culture and heritage. We have an array of performing, literary and visual arts organizations; multicultural groups; libraries; museums, galleries and historic sites; artists and artisans; and the historic Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts.

We are home to many exciting events and festivals that draw thousands of visitors each year, including:

Municipal Cultural Plan

Municipal cultural planning supports the pivotal role that arts, culture, and heritage play in building strong, sustainable, and vibrant communities. The City of Brantford's Municipal Cultural Plan (2014) proposes 34 strategic actions to assist in the implementation of five new goals. The plan unites and mobilizes the cultural community, and provides a policy framework and implementation strategies for City Council, staff, and community arts leaders.

Artist Database

The Artist Database is the best way to keep in touch with the City of Brantford’s arts and culture team. The goal of this database is to expand City staff awareness of local artists and creatives who are interested and available to participate in a variety of art initiatives. Grand Culture supports and promotes individuals involved in arts, culture and heritage in our region. Information is categorized in to four sectors, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Literary Arts, and Heritage, which helps users easily find information and foster connections.
