March Break Camps and Activities

Learn all the City has to offer this March break (March 14 to 18) including Day Camps for ages 4 to 12, leadership training, swimming and ice-skating. 

Day camps 

We offer a wide variety of March break camps and drop-in activities for children and youth. 

Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre (4 to 12 years) 

This day camp will include games, activities, crafts and more with additional health and safety protocols in place to ensure a safe and fun time at camp.

  • 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with free extended care available from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Woodman Park Community Centre (5 to 12 years)  

This day camp will include games, activities, crafts and more with additional health and safety protocols in place to ensure a safe and fun time at camp.

  • 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with free extended care available from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Youth Leadership Development Level 1 course (13 to 16 years) 

This program is geared to youth looking to receive basic training in leadership skills, communication, program planning, team building, inclusion, resource development and more in an interactive classroom experience. After the in class training, participants then put their skills in action during a 30-hour volunteer placement in a City of Brantford Community Recreation Program. Pre-registration is required and COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place. Youth must show proof of double vaccination with enhanced QR code upon entry.

Camp and Course important information

  • Children must wear a face covering that covers their nose and mouth (without gaps) for the majority of program
  • Children 12 years of age and older must show proof of double vaccination before entry
  • Bring a snack and a refillable water bottle (water fountains are only available for refilling at this time)
  • Please bring both indoor and outdoor running shoes, and outdoor appropriate clothing. Children will be playing outdoors (weather permitting).
  • Parents are required to sign-in and sign-out their child(ren) outside the facility. Parents will be asked to call the facility to notify of pick-up.
  • Pre-screening for each child will be implemented. Temperatures will also be taken
  • Consistent with public health regulations, ongoing handwashing and sanitizing protocols (including all materials and surfaces) will be adhered to by all staff and participants prior to and throughout program
  • Everyone in the household must stay home if anyone is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, been notified that they are a close contact or is waiting for test results after experiencing symptoms. Refunds will be issued if this occurs for days not attended in this situation

Ice-skating

There are a variety of places to skate outdoors or indoors this March Break. Join us for a variety of ice-skating options at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre for all ages.  They offer a variety of skating options. Helmets are strongly recommended. View full skating schedules online. Harmony Square downtown also offers ice-skating 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting or you can find a community outdoor ice-rink near you.

Swimming

The Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre has several pools to enjoy over the break.
