Your Time Youth Program

The Your Time Youth Program pairs recreational activities with learning opportunities. This FREE program for youth ages 13 to 18 runs every Wednesday beginning April 13 until May 25, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30pm at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, located at 254 N Park St. Participants will entered for the chance to win a $5.00 Tim Hortons gift card after each program. Pre-registration is required. This program is provided through the support of Canadian Tire Corporation’s Jumpstart Charities Sport Relief Fund.

Yoga and Anti-Human Trafficking: Wednesday, April 13 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Improve your mental and physical well-being during a Yoga session involving physical postures and breathing techniques. Afterwards, the Brantford Police Services and Nova Vita will lead a discussion on the dangers, risks, and signs of human trafficking.

Basketball Skills and Mental Health: Wednesday, April 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Players will have the chance to practice skills, drills, and have a friendly game. Afterwards, Woodview Mental Health and Autism Services facilitators will lead open discussions on matters of mental health.

Basketball Skills and Safe Online Dating: Wednesday, April 27 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Players will have the chance to practice skills, drills, and have a friendly game. Afterwards, Nova Vita staff will lead a discussion on safe online dating practices.

Fitness Fun and Budgeting: Wednesday, May 4 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Enjoy a team-centric work out that is so fun, it’ll hardly feel like exercise! This activity uses body weight combined with good music and team games. Afterwards, join the Brant Skills Centre as they discuss how to plan for your needs and wants by budgeting.

Basketball Skills and Cybercrime Prevention: Wednesday, May 11 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Players will have the chance to practice skills, drills, and have a friendly game. Afterwards, Brantford Police Services will lead discussion on how to recognize and mitigate risks of cybercrime.

Basketball Skills and How to Support a Friend: Wednesday, May 25 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Players will have the chance to practice skills, drills, and have a friendly game. Afterwards, Nova Vita staff will lead a discussion on how to support friends facing issues related to bullying, domestic violence, and mental health.
