Holiday Card Contest

 Calling all Artists! Submissions are wanted for the City of Brantford - Office of the Mayor Holiday Card Contest. Your original artwork may be chosen as the Office of the Mayor’s Holiday Card for 2019. This contest is open to all elementary and secondary school students in the City of Brantford.

Your artwork should be suitable for use as a Holiday Card and should depict a local City of Brantford scene or event. Each entry must be accompanied by a signed entry form as supplied by the Mayor’s Office. Original entries may be submitted in the form of a drawing, painting or sketch.

  • Minimum size of original artwork is 4 inches by 6 inches
  • Maximum size of original artwork is 8.5 inches by 11 inches

An award to be determined by the Office of the Mayor will be made available to the winning entrant. Finished art should be submitted along with an entry form to the Mayor’s Office at City Hall.

Submission Deadline: Friday, November 29, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.

Guidelines, rules and conditions

  1. This contest is open to all elementary and secondary school students in the City of Brantford.
  2. The submission (art) should be suitable for use as a Holiday Card and should depict a local (City of Brantford) scene or event.
  3. More than one entry may be submitted.
  4. Each entry must be accompanied by a signed entry form as supplied online, or by the Mayor’s Office.
  5. Entry must be an original artwork and may be a drawing, painting, sketch etc.
  6. Minimum recommended size of original artwork is 4 inches by 6 inches
  7. Maximum recommended size of original artwork is 8.5 inches by 11 inches
  8. The winning entrant must agree to allow:
    1. Their name to appear on the finished Holiday Card.
    2. Their art to become the property of the City. All copyright is transferred to the City of Brantford.
    3. Their name and reproduction of their winning entry to be published in the media.
    4. Their original art to be displayed in City Hall or other City locations.
  9. All entries to be pre-judged by a panel, which will be appointed by the Mayor. The Mayor’s decision of the winning entry is final.
  10. Official entry forms are available from the Mayor’s Office and the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall. Finished art should be submitted to the Mayor’s Office.
  11. The City of Brantford will not be held responsible for loss or damage to artwork submitted.
  12.  DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION IS NOVEMBER 29, 2019 at 4:30 p.m.

The personal information contained on this form is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act 2001, S.O.2001, C.25, as amended, and will be used to determine eligibility and assist in the selection for the Holiday Card Art Contest.
