Temporary Reopening of Brant Avenue and Colborne Street on December 18

Come around to a new downtown

BRANTFORD, ON – Brant Avenue and Colborne Street are scheduled to temporarily reopen to traffic by late-afternoon on December 18, 2025, weather permitting. This reopening will remain in place through the winter, and work will resume in the spring to complete underground sanitary, storm, and watermain upgrades on the east side of the roadway.

What’s next

  • Crews are completing base asphalt paving, road markings, and site cleanup this week.
  • Bell utility relocations on the Lorne Bridge and Brant Avenue are planned to take place over the winter months. Schedule details and potential impacts will be shared once they are confirmed.
  • Winter construction on Icomm Drive will continue. Traffic controls will remain in place to support two-way traffic between Brant Avenue and Clarence Street South, with a single lane open in each direction between Hill Street and Clarence Street South.
