BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford invites residents to the second annual Waste Discovery Day: From Curb to Landfill on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mohawk Street Landfill, located at 20 Morrison Rd, Brantford. This free family friendly event aims to educate residents about the importance of proper waste disposal while providing fun activities for kids of all ages, including a bouncy castle, face painting, arts and crafts, and games. 

Installation of underground infrastructure and road construction on Icomm Drive will continue over the coming weeks, with traffic controls remaining in place throughout the construction area.

Hill Street has reopened, and all entrances and exits to the Market Centre Parkade are now available for use.

The City of Brantford has temporarily closed the Silvercreek Crossing Pedestrian Bridge, located between Ludlow Crescent and Hackney Ridge, due to a structural concern that requires immediate stabilization work.
Emergency repairs are anticipated to begin this week and be completed the week of September 8, weather permitting. The bridge will remain closed to the public while this work is underway.
