Installation of underground infrastructure and road construction on Icomm Drive continues. Traffic controls in the area will be modified early next week. 

The City of Brantford and the County of Brant are pleased to announce an update to the proposed Brantford Municipal Airport boundary adjustment map, reflecting changes made directly in response to public feedback received throughout the public engagement process.

The public is urged to take precautions as the Medical Officer of Health for Grand Erie Public Health has issued a heat warning, effective July 13, 2026. A heat warning is issued when Environment and Climate Change Canada forecasts two consecutive days with a maximum daily temperature of 31 degrees Celsius or higher during the day and a minimum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius or higher during the evening, or a humidex of 40 degrees Celsius or higher. 

This temporary closure is required to allow a private contractor, operating under a City-issued permit, to safely complete underground watermain, storm sewer and sanitary sewer connection work.

The second annual Brantford Beats & Eats festival will return to downtown Brantford on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a full day of live music and entertainment, a vendor market, art demonstrations, a live painting competition, food trucks, and more.

Hill Street has reopened, and all entrances and exits to the Market Centre Parkade are now available for use.

Ballantyne Drive River Access Point and boat launch and D’Aubigny trail access, located north of Spalding Drive, will be closed beginning in mid-July while construction and site enhancements are completed.

Today, the City of Brantford marked the official opening of its new Provincial Offences Court Administration (POA) office at 220 Colborne Street ahead of the first day of in-person counter services at the new location on Monday, July 6, 2026.
